Silver solder query for oil and fuel lines
Posted by: Nick Lettington - 10-05-2023, 03:16 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (6)

I have purchased some nipples and nuts and a length of 3/16 tubing... now I seem to remember reading on the forum that plumber's solder isn't the stuff to use on fuel lines... but there are lots of grades of silver solder. Can someone please advise me of the grade best suited to making up fuel lines and an oil pressure gauge line?

Many thanks, and an apology if tis is already answered ad nausea on the forum... I searched and found lots, but nothing that answered my question.

Nippy David Harcourt 60PSI Oil Gauge
Posted by: MatthewMyerscough - 08-05-2023, 12:40 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (2)

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of a David Harcourt 60PSI gauge fitted to their Nippy/65?

I recently this purchased this gauge but I'm now thinking its not quite right. The dial layout is slightly different to the only other one I have seen, also I think it is slightly bigger (I don't have my dash panel to hand to check).

I'd like to know your thoughts.

Thanks

Matthew

  3 bearing conrod
Posted by: gwhite110 - 08-05-2023, 10:17 AM - Forum: Wants - No Replies

Hi,

hoping someone can help. I am looking for a conrod for remetaling part type 1A884. This is for a early 3 bearing crankshaft. Just been advised by my engineer I have a cracked rod.

Alternatively I have a later shell type crank which will require 4 new conrods type 1A918.

I am in the worcestershire area, happy to travel.

Thanks

G

With my anorak firmly zipped up - and pondering thoughts decades old, can anyone confirm that the wiring terminals to a Rist horn were of the Ross Courtney circular type?

Question 4 Speed Remote - Reverse Mod
Posted by: worthidlj - 04-05-2023, 04:34 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (5)

Hi peeps,

I was scrolling social media the other day and came across this:

https://www.facebook.com/590726008/video...595259351/

One of the comments says the following:

" On a repro there are two ways, shorten the selector rod that enters the selectors in the box so you don’t have to lift it up ,or the proper way deepen the reverse selector slot in the box to enable the full length/depth Elton’s rod to swing across the 3 gates if that makes sense."

I'm not sure I understand how either of these allow the engagement of reverse; could someone help explain please?

Kind regards,
David
