  Ken Cooke Picnic
Posted by: Nick Salmon - 12-08-2023, 05:45 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (2)

Lots of Cooke family and friends gathered today at the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden in Bedfordshire to enjoy a picnic and to remember much-missed A7 stalwart, Ken Cooke, who died just after the Centenary Event last year.

Ken's wife, Eileen, was celebrating her 90th birthday so we all had an excuse to eat lots and lots of cake.

Janet Edroff and Gill Davis sorted out all the catering arrangements and there is not a chance that anyone went home hungry!

It was a very fitting event and Ken would have loved to have seen the collection of cars that attended.

  Info on cards requested please
Posted by: A7novice - 11-08-2023, 08:52 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (5)

Hello, I run a 1933 RP with a 26VA carb.
This arrangement works fine.
However, I have acquired another carb, a 26VEHG.
This arrangement also seems to work fine

What car would the 26WEHG carb have been used on originally? Also, what are the differences between the two different types of carb. Any info greatfully received.

Would anyone happen to have a torque figure @ RPM for late 2 bearing and 3 bearing engines? Searched Forum and internet to no avail.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Star Zenith carburettor identification
Posted by: Belinni - 09-08-2023, 11:05 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (3)

Hi

I have two of these carbs, I’m guessing that they are Zenith VM type carburettors?
Can anyone help identify them, there are no obvious markings on them?

Thanks

I don't suppose that anyone has a new steel timing gear with a taper bore for a magneto camshaft going surplus?

Thanks

  Original sprung rear seat squab
Posted by: Tony Griffiths - 07-08-2023, 03:23 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (12)

Original sprung-type rear seat squab from a late 1930 AF. Just in case anyone is mad enough to attempt the construction of a replica, or has the shattered remains of one and needs some details of the construction, the attached pictures might help.
Presumably, all cars before Moseley float-on-air had sprung seats?

  Type R47 headlights
Posted by: Scarlet O'Hara - 07-08-2023, 12:27 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (4)

Hi, would anybody be able to post some pictures of the interior details for Typr R47 headlamps and how the reflector is held in place?  All I've got in the shells are three lugs as shown in the attached, I'm guessing there must be a spring arrangement possibly?

Brake pedal pad and nut, V belt camshaft pulley and crossflow radiator sought
Posted by: Nick Lettington - 06-08-2023, 08:33 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (1)

Forgive my impudence at not posting in the proper place but I'm very aware that the main forum is more often visited than sales and wants.

I find myself in need of a few more small items for the Speedex wannabe. Can anyone help with a brake pedal pad and nut, v belt camshaft pulley (to drive a Ford export water pump) and a crossflow radiator of the sort fitted to a low fronted special? I'm hoping not to spend a kings ransom but have lots of bits to offer in exchange...
