  Jenny Wilcox
Posted by: Chris Garner - 02-02-2025, 09:21 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (6)

Sadly, I have to announce the unexpected death of Jenny Wilcox on Friday, January 31st.
Jenny was the wife of the late Dave Wilcox, founder of the now popular PWA7C Christmas Trial.
Together with Paul, one of their three sons, Jenny was a firm enthusiast of Dave's motoring activities, attending trials and other events, both Pre War and VSCC.
Along with many, I shall miss her. Our condolences to her family and her many friends.

Friends' Gallery Picture of the Month - February 2025
Posted by: Mike Costigan - 01-02-2025, 08:15 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (13)

Lots going on in this shot that Jeff Taylor found on the internet. The location has been identified as Redruth in Cornwall, and the street decorations probably celebrate the coronation of King George and Queen Mary in May 1937. The ARR Ruby in the foreground was registered in February 1937, and the Ford V8 Model 62 was introduced at the beginning of 1937.

  Leaking Ewarts Tap
Posted by: Lowbarn - 31-01-2025, 12:49 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (8)

I need to fix my leaking tap.

Does anyone know of a decent secondary tap I can fit in place of my current offering?

The original tap leaks out of the carburettor.
I’ve stripped the tap once and cleaned it out, I think it’s still using the cork seals.
I’ll have another go using viton seals.
If that doesn’t work I need a decent tap.
Thanks.
Richard.

  Silverstone Festival 2025 ( Cancellation)
Posted by: Lowespeed - 30-01-2025, 01:09 PM - Forum: Events - No Replies

Silverstone Festival 22nd to 24th August 2025
The A7CA is not registered this year, but the Midlands Austin 7 Club, www.ma7c.co.uk, has a registration with the organisers. This gives two tickets and an entry pass for your Austin 7 for the circuit for all 3 days. There is an advert on the MA7C website giving the code required. The huge show features top line racing, evening entertainment, free access to he pits, car displays, shopping village and much more. See www.silverstone.co.uk for more details.

Due to lack of interested and entries at the reduced rate; the Association entry for this event has been cancelled.

How does one seal the valve chest on an early block (with screw in core plugs) when there is only a very small land along the upper edge?

  Austin Sevens in Parliament
Posted by: Martin Baker - 29-01-2025, 01:36 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (8)

Is this the first time Austin Sevens have been mentioned in Parliament?

Sarah Gibson's maiden speech (Dave Williams wife). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBHRaOhYD9E

Hopefully a worthy old car enthusiast successor to Peter Butler!
