  Lightweight trailer - SOLD
Posted by: Nick Salmon - 09-10-2024, 02:48 PM - Forum: Sales - No Replies

NOW SOLD

A custom built, unbraked, two-wheel trailer ideally suited to carrying a Chummy or other A7 on 19" wheels (any smaller diameter might make clearances a bit tight). I've had it for just over a year and only used it a few times. The trailer is not plated but is well built and more than capable of taking the weight of an A7.

On being acquired the trailer was painted, fitted with new wheels and tyres, new rear stays, new jockey wheel, new safety chain, new number plate spring clips. It tows beautifully and is very easy to move by hand when unloaded.

O/A length: Approx 4.2m
O/A width: Approx 1.62m
Bed length: Approx 3m
Bed width: Approx 1.2m

P.S. Reason for sale - A couple of weeks ago I purchased a four year old Woodford LWT-021 1300kg trailer to replace this one. It's great, but I have found it is 4" too wide to get into my workshop (I know, schoolboy error in not measuring it first!) so I shall be moving it on as well. In perfect working order. Will be £1400. Let me know if interested.

Scottish A7 Club National Rally and Summer Holiday...
Posted by: Ruairidh Dunford - 02-10-2024, 06:06 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (4)

Scottish Austin Seven Club

Summer Holiday 2025

Boat of Garten

Monday 30th June – Sunday 6th July

Following on from the 2025 National Rally at Guildtown (27th – 30th June) there will be a week-long holiday in the Highland village of Boat of Garten.

What happens?

During the week several day runs will be organised in and around the stunning Cairngorm, Moray and Inverness areas.

Each evening (with the exception of Thursday) we have exclusive use of a covered outdoor area for barbecues and room in the Village Hall to socialise.

Boat of Garten village

The village has three restaurants (hotels, Andersons and The Golf Club), a steam railway, a Post Office and local shop. A Fish and Chip van visits once a week and freshly baked pizzas are available most nights from the rear of Andersons restaurant.

In addition to this the local town of Aviemore is 5 miles away and has every modern convenience you could ever want.

Accommodation

Camping

We have negotiated use of the Village hall and playing fields as a pop-up campsite for our group. You will have access to showers, toilets, a kitchen area with some fridge space, a camping spot and trailer parking. In addition there will be Elsan disposal available in the form of two Portaloos.

No hook ups are available. Rubbish needs to be taken away, which I can arrange, and recycling facilities exist in the village for glass, paper, plastic and metal etc.

The cost for the 6 nights will be £160 per unit (tent or motorhome), and is non refundable. Unfortunately, there is not an option to reduce the price if you wish to stay for fewer nights.

Hotel/Guesthouses etc.

The village has one large Hotel (The Boat), a variety of Guest houses, a static Caravan Park and various rental houses. These can be found using the usual booking sites and simple internet searches.

If you are interested in coming, please contact me in the first instance and I will add you to our email list for further details as more is organised.

Camping pitches are strictly limited, so if you wish one, please contact me asap. They will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be added to once we reach the maximum number.

  32 RN window run channels
Posted by: Sneezerap - 01-10-2024, 04:16 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (1)

The door window run channels in my 32 RN are in need of replacement. They are currently loose and will move up and down as the window is lowered and raised.  I will be ordering new. Current length is 18 inches and they barely extend below the door latch. The window gets cocked in the opening due lack of guide when fully lowered./ I would like to extend them down another 6 inches.  Now when the run channel is longer, I wonder if I can remove and reinstall the glass?   THOUGHTS please.

  Early Ruby Trafficators

Trafficators as used on the very early Ruby, the very fragile, short-lived type - but sadly the wrong mounting and 12 volt.

Friends' Gallery Picture of the Month - October 2024
Posted by: Mike Costigan - 01-10-2024, 07:58 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (6)

The Austin stand at the Milan Motor Show in May 1931 was populated entirely by Sevens. Prominent amongst the display was the Ulster that Goodacre and Trevisan had taken to second in their class behind an 1100cc Maserati in the Mille Miglia just a few weeks earlier.

At the forefront in this photo is an RL saloon, a model that had already been superseded by the RM some months earlier, with an AG tourer and a PC boat-tailed 2-seater behind.

Photo submitted by Austin Harris.
