Sunbac Colmore Cup Trial 1936

Number 44 was C. D Buckley in Grasshopper BOA 58; Milton did not compete in this event (AOX 3 was his car). Richardson  was trialing at least until April 1938 before his car, AOX 4, was sold on and became part of the Scottish Tartan Grasshoppers team.

In 1936 Buckley won a first class award, car number 26 according to Cowbourne.

This is embarrassing, Henry.  I missed Milton out completely from our record, and seem to have placed Buckley in 44, despite the Cowbourne listing. Even the grainy photograph in the first edition of our book gives Buckley as the driver. I daren't look at any other listings.

Thanks for waving a white flag Mick. Having read your contribution I'd got a little uncertain and went to check the various sources.

Just to scramble all our brains, I wondered why I could have made such a mistake about our 1936 Colmore listings and went back to my source material. I've copied the April 1936 Austin Magazine page I referred to. It shows clearly, Buckley driving BOA 58 and numbered 44.
