I admire you who drive your classics in winter conditions. The stuff they put on the roads here to melt ice and snow is very corrosive on a old vehicle. I have 1967 MG Midget which I bought in 1980 and it has NEVER been driven in snow. Hence its survival. Gord

In northern England the local authorities also energetically spread salt on the roads during the winter whenever ice is threatened - but we also get a lot of rain which washes it away again, so it is possible to avoid the worst of it. And when there is a lot of snow here - which is rare but has happened - they sometimes cannot get out to salt as we don't have snow ploughs, so then there is the chance to drive on/in pure white snow.

Not a lot out apart from me on the lanes of Herefordshire in March 2018 (the last time we had any snow around here).
