What have you done today with your Austin Seven
In case it's missed - because it's now deep inside the thread - I thought that I'd bring this fact to the front.
Yesterday, over lunch at the Red Lion pub in Litton at the regular Sheffield Group second Wednesday of the month meeting, Dave Mann shared with me some interesting facts about the 1931/32 Lucas Graves headlamps and the Bosch-type bulb fitting. The first version of these headlamps has a shallow reflector that precludes the fitting of the new 'projector' bulbs. Happily, the later version has a much deeper, parabolic-type reflector that does allow them to be fitted - though only by a fraction of an inch. The room inside the lamp is 3 inches - and the bulbs 2.875" long.
I hope that this information will be of use to the owners of cars fitted with these headlamps.
From ClassicCarLeds  and dynamoregulatorconversions these bulbs, in a variety of fittings to suit most Austin Sevens, are currently £28 each.
