What have you done today with your Austin Seven
Hi All

Not today, but yesterday, it was Harry Hales birthday. He is not too grand at the moment so a group of us went over to take him and his family out for a short spin around Porthcawl.

Cheers

Howard

I haven't done anything in my austin seven today, but I really wish I had driven it and not the modern, currently stranded at the roadside with a puncture and no spare wheel.

That's progress.

Hi Howard, yes, it was a great afternoon run around Porthcawl. Then back to Harry's house for  drinks, and mince pies. Happy Birthday Harry. S&P

Decided to go to the supermarket in the Seven where I could run rings round the big moderns and always find a parking place.

I collected my radius arms from being straightened and repaired. Rather pleased with them and once painted, that will be another part ready to fit once reassembly of the chassis can start.

Quite a nice dry, sunny day down here (no salt) so having done my tasks for the day I decided to get the RP out and give it an airing. Had a nice drive round the northern end of the Gard and into the Ardèche and back, around 35 miles in total.

On the border between the two departments, between St Ambroix (Gard) and St Paul le Jeune (Ardèche) is a popular tourist spot, the caves of "La Cocalière". Entry to the site is via a roundabout on the main road which also gives access in the opposite direction to the village of Courry. For a number of years there's been an old Peugeot 403 parked on top of some rocks at the side of the roundabout, not publicising the caves but directing you to a nearby restaurant.

After pausing to take some pics I carried on to St Paul le Jeune and then turned right towards St André de Cruzières to see if the Peugeot 203 pick up was still there outside the stone-yard. (See first post on this thread). Yes, it's still there and looks no worse for wear and remarkably free from vandalism. The bonnet was open and the engine etc is still there!

I then tootled through St André de Cruzières into St Sauveur de Cruzières and then cut back south towards St Victor de Malcap and Back to St Ambroix & then home.

Traffic was terrible, as per usual.

Merry Christmas everyone
Bonne fêtes!

Nice little tootle in the winter sunshine Bruce!

I’ll be doing the same today…in a howling gale and driving rain…

Ivor, you are braver than I.
After getting the modern back on the road, after six weeks waiting for bits, I had the Seven off the road for a bit of tlc and to put new brushes in the dynamo. No sooner than I had done that, the modern blotted it’s copybook again.
I was intending to press the Seven back into service, but the weather up here has been so horrible for the last couple of days - rain accompanied by howling gales, I haven’t dared take it out! Definitely Landrover weather.
