Our friends have a 17 year old son Barney who is on his 2nd year mechanics course at Plumpton College and so I invited him to spend the day today doing a couple of jobs on the RN. We removed the petrol tap and replaced the rubber seals with cork ones that had been soaking in oil for a couple of days and then replaced the fibre washers on the carb banjo. No leaks and taps move smoothly now. Then he got down on the floor and dismantled the offside rear shock absorber and after a thorough clean replaced the friction and brass discs, spring etc. All nice and tight but offside still sagsĀ 30 mm lower than the nearside ??? Any ideas? Drive to town and along seafront brought lots of waves and smiles. Barney is now a teenage 7 lover. Great for him and the 7 future.
