What have you done today with your Austin Seven
I Googled 'The Steam Packet Inn' and up came Isle of Whithorn.

I'll collect my prize at Guildtown!

Looks like you're having a great time.

Steam Packet, the 1960s supergroup?

Sorry, I'll show myself to the door....

I took the saloon to our monthly meet near Richmond, several new faces and cars.   A nicely restored Citroen Ami has been bought by a chap who was looking for a vintage Alvis (not much difference!) and the BMW I8 next to my Austin belongs to a man who has just bought a Mk 1 Ruby.   I would be worried if the door on my Austin opened in the same way as the BMW.  His electronic key fob gives him a full diagnostic of the car, whether he has the roof up or down, lights on, interior temperature etc etc.  He had 78 miles range left so I was happy to know that my Austin would go much further on its half tank of petrol.  A stunning looking car all the same.

Why does he need to use the key fob to tell him whether the roof is open or closed?

So the dealer can charge him £300 for a replacement when he loses his key...  Big Grin

It's for when he's lying in bed trying to get off to sleep when he hears it start to rain. worrying... "now did I shut the car roof".

Looking at the key fob which resembles a small smartphone I would think the replacement cost will be well into four figures and will probably involve a trip to Bavaria.

Test run pre Guildtown. Milton of Crathes, about 60 miles. Only thing that broke was the satnav, otherwise a good run in some good weather.
The car does look small next to the motorhome !.

Martin.

Today, some more sea but on a slightly different coast and a chap looking out to sea that had no interest in us at all.

Had an opticians' appointment today, so took the car down to Dolgellau. As I was coming over the bridge into the town, I was passed by half a dozen vintage motorcycles ridden by equally vintage looking men complete with cork helmets .By a strange coincidence, one of the clients at the opticians told me that he had a cammy Velo

On the way back, I stopped off at a friend's in Bont Newydd for a cup of tea and a natter, and then home.

Later, used the little car to go over to Ruthin to collect one of Leon's friends who came over for the afternoon.

All in all, just over 100 miles covered. The 'tin butterfly' is still there (see my 'Mystery Noise' post), but seems not to be getting any worse, so I shall leave it and see what happens, as, otherwise, the car is running very well.
