Has anybody come across one of these? Google hasn't, it is fitted to a 12/4 London taxi belonging to a friend.

It's an 1.5" diameter mounted front of the windscreen peak for the full width of the car with two wiper arms hanging down.

Do you mean it is as long as the windscreen is wide?

Vintage Austin Taxi wiper motor. It certainly is a most remarkable thing - a vacuum tube fitted at the top of the windscreen that stretches across its entire width.
The picture shows the assembly held on brackets at each end - and the vacuum pipe running down the edge of the windscreen.

Thanks Tony, the one I saw on Friday when I returned the dynamo was in a somewhat dark garage and was missing the drivers wiper arm. The question is whose make is it?
