Hi,
Does anyone know what thread is on the wing screws that hold the opening windscreen in place.
I believe they're probably 5/16 but I've no idea if BSW or BSF.
John.

Coolant leak from manifold studs |

After engine rebuild refit etc the Ruby MK 2 is now starting and idling quite well. Problem we seem to have now is coolant leaking from a number of manifold stud brass nuts. The manifold itself does not seem to be leaking any exhaust gases or fuel.
Are there any well used fixes?
We were thinking of undoing one nut at a time and getting some blue hylomar in there before refitting washer and nut or is it best to tackle this at the cylinder head end and remove the manifold completely?

I've just bought and fitted one of these units to my post 1933 A7 (as far as I'm aware they only make 2 models for A7s) and I can't make any sense of the wiring diagram they supply. Has anyone successfully fitted one of these starter motors ?

Anyone have a good photo showing clutch lever in situ as fitted to a Mk2 Ruby, we reinstalled the engine a while back and now when we go to tighten pinch bolt it looks like the lever is hitting engine crankcase and rubbing against sterring box, so may have put it on backwards. As it the lever is not removeable without lifting rear of engine so it clears frame we just want to double check before proceeding.......or any other suggestions??

Cotter pin definitions |

Hi All
On another thread there is mention of the cotter pin that holds the kingpin tight in the axle eye. It is contrasted to the cotter pin that ‘say’ secures the crank on a bicycle.
Is there a correct definition for the two types? Half moon and wedge have been used. Austin refers to both as cotters. A Google search provides no answers.
Cheers
Howard
