Further to my last post - I have rebuilt my engine with modern internals (crank, rods, slipper pistons & new rings, new std valves) the block has also been rebored. What running in regime is recommended?

  Engine mounts

The engine on my 33 PD was solid mounted, bolted to chassis. As crankcase was damaged I rebuilt with a more modern rubber mounted crankcase. I’ve just put engine back in the car but the two front mountings in chassis seem to a different thread to the new studs and rubbers I bought. Also the large rubber bottom ring rests on hex section of the stud this dosnt seem right?
Any words of wisdom appreciated - TIA

  SU Carburettor

I'm currently working on a fellow members car fitted with an 1¼ SU carburettor.

There are symptoms of fuel starvation (engine under load loses power for a few seconds then picks up again). I know that the zenith 26VA runs on 1½ p.s.i. but I suspect that a  SU electric pump would supply with a higher pressure.

Is this  a common problem when using an SU carb? and if so what was the solution?

Finally, I am getting to grips with the cataloguing of the Harding collection of photos. It will be worth the wait (I hope!)

Can someone more informed than I on the development of the Mulliner Saloon suggest a date when the Pram irons were removed? I have included two photos from the collection that demonstrate the difference.. (If indeed these are both Mulliners!)

Many thanks for any assistance. With some 350 photos to describe, this may not be my only question!

  LWB Chassis with Hydraulic front brakes

I should say I don't know Roger personally and haven't seen the chassis, just helping him out...

  Pinion Nut (hold bearings)

Hi
I just bought a new CWP set from David Cochrane, but this one has a left-hand threaded nut to hold the bearings. 
My old one is right hand threaded and David is not able to provide the nut. 

Does anyone have such a nut for me ?

  Oil Pressure Query

Hi all, 

Just a quick one, at this time of year, how long after starting/driving does your oil pressure drop down to the normal operating range (mine would be about 5psi driving, 0 - 1psi idling).

Just asking as I'm unsure if I have a restriction or I'm just being a scaredy-pants and need to drive it for a bit longer.

  A7 Starter motor - hair spring?

Hi all, had some issues with starter on my Ulster rep at Lakeland trials.  Think I've rectified the issue (poor connection) but when I removed starter motor yesterday I'm now wondering if it should have a "hair spring" to help the pinion go back into the resting place and then be held in place by tension of the 2 clips on side.  I bench tested it and it does move quite freely but I think it should have a spring to help pinion go back although there is very little shoulder to hold it in?  I think it should go where pen is indicating. 
The alternative method I guess would be for flywheel to throw it back when it starts and tension on clips holds it there?

I'm not that familiar with starters of this age!

any ideas if it should have a hair spring and if it does where can I get one!!!?  

   
   

Its a CAV and only other number on casing are. 10402 and 531
