I need to put LED headlight bulbs in my seven; spending time in stationary traffic soon drains the battery. 

The bulbholders and reflectors are the 1950s type BPF, and I'm running 12 volt.

Please can anyone recommend what you have purchased recently? I'm not looking for brilliant beam to see by, but in modern traffic it's frightening to drive on sidelights.

On t'internet there are so many unknowns from £7 each to £60.

I've been enjoying the BBC series Moonflower Murders, not least because there are plenty of car spotting opportunities. Two of the main characters even drive Sevens.

           

       

The yellow one bears an invalid registration but that may be part of the story, I haven't watched it all yet.

Hi All

Just sorting out a two blade fan ready to put on my van which with the recored radiator runs quite cool!

I found two in my spares shed but was surprised to find they were slightly different by about 3/16” in depth.  Did Austin make two sizes of fan or is one a reproduction part.  Just curious.

I am currently rebuilding an engine with a pressure fed 1 1/2" Phoenix crank and a modern rear oil seal with a speedi sleeved flywheel.
What is the recommended approach to using the old oil slingers/throwers once modern lip oil seals are incorporated in an engine build? Do we just bin them or are they still a must?

Indirectly related to Sevens, I wonder if anyone has any knowledge...

I have a small compressor, probably 45 years old at least, which was in daily use at my workplace until 5 years ago when I replaced it with a much larger one. Since then it has sat at home and now I'd like to begin using it again. My question is whether it is safe, from a pressure-vessel point of view? Any clues as to how long these things last, or the consequences when they fail?

I am in the process of putting the wooden framework together for the  doors of my AD van but sadly John Heath's instructions for these are VERY vague. The basic structures are easy enough to figure out but there is no information as to the location of the hole for the door handle and latch mechanism, wrapping the door in alloy etc. and whether the thicker door frames are flush with the surrounding body frame or sit proud of it etc.

If anyone has any information from John Heath on putting the doors together I  would be most appreciative to hear his instructions.

Here we have a Nippy - left-hand drive, so probably a Willys-Overland-Crossley car. The late wheel centres suggest a late car, although wheels are easily changed.

But where are we? Unlikely to be a left-hand drive car in the UK, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa, but the writing on the wall in the background is in English, so are we in North America? I don't think the registration/licence plate is a US one, so Canada? I'm not familiar with Canadian plates, so can anyone comment?

Todays car is a mystery tourer. Such information I have been provided (thank you Mike) suggests that the registration dates from September 1932. It’s definitely a coachbuilt version, the wings are pure Arrow 4-seater, but there’s no arrow on the radiator, and the top of the door is in line with the bonnet waist moulding which doesn’t match the Arrow Foursome. Nor is the windscreen Arrow… So where does that leave us?

Been late night bidding again !!!

Can anyone help ID this engine, was sold as a austin seven 1930 but looks later, the other lots included dixi parts so maybe ... I googled A1887 and dint find anything.
