More seriously, a signature would be quite fun printed large on a t-shirt without any other clutter. As would something like pages from the illustrated parts books.

I see that no one has bought the 'Austin' item yet.

Had a look at other items offered by the same seller - for example, a fragment of Walter Scott's poetry written out by an L Lawson, who is said to be the famous Australian poet of that name, and a famous sonnet by Wordsworth (with a strange title) in long hand with his name and a date at the end.  If this latter item were by Wordsworth's hand then it would be worth a lot more than the asking price?  Would you buy either without comparing the handwriting?  As usual, Caveat Emptor.

David Howe has identified the second signature as that of E L Payton. I should have known that, but I was trying to identify a surname beginning with L
