Radial tyre

I'm not saying we should, but why don't we use tyres like this on an Austin seven? Has anybody tried?

Perhaps because it's designed to be a temporary "Space Saver" tyre and not meant for road use on all 4 corners.
As new it comes with a whole 3.3mm of tread depth as well.

We run these on the single seater hill climb cars, 125/85x16's all round. Standard wheels in front, offset 16" at the rear.

No problems so far except I've had to re-route the brake cables & linkages on the Green Job and make a new exhaust manifold to come out the side as Beloved was using the underneath exhaust as a skid plate over the speed bumps on the return leg.

On Sacre' Bleu I've had to have the rear springs set up as it was already low with the 550/16" cross plies, now 90mm lower on the new Marie biscuits

But yes, 3.3mm tread from new, but nice & sticky compared to the old cross ply tyres I was running

You should have seen the the look from the tyre guy when I went to collect them, then the double take when I told him they were for 2 race cars...
