BFJ 143 left Longbridge in 1935. The present car was built to a very high standard by the sadly missed Ian Bennett, before he took to supercharging. Lots of photos. In my ownership has competed at Silverstone, Pembrey and Oulton Park, OK, round the cones on the autotests but even so.... Much nav rallying, class win and one overall victory this year. As a recce and research car for trials and tours  it must have successfully ascended over two dozen hills and sections, including Shelsley, Prescott and Farlow, only hill failed on was Bushcombe.

Steve Flake engine, Andy Bird gearbox, four new Longstones, cast ali sump, two batteries and LEDs for night touring and rallies. All the David Cochrane steering & shocker improvements. Does exactly 3,975 miles every year.

Wobbly king pins but an axle waiting to be sent to Ruaridh and Bowdenex cables to be put on to improve turning circle. Usual boxes of bits, pistons, crankcases, choice of valve chest covers etc etc.

The machine has hugely benefitted from the wisdom and generosity of the forum members, and our enormously helpful specialist suppliers. Often appeared on the forum, sometimes rampaging around the countryside, sometimes semi dismantled in the workshop. I would prefer to see it continue “in the family.” If it ends up being sent for auction it will be anointed with litres of Autoglym, carpets vacuumed into submission and some of the special bits like the sump will come off.

Perfect for sport, shopping, shows or picnics on the sands at Pendine.

Got to be worth £7,250 but a discount of £5 for every cylinder head taken away with the car.

Hi Steve

No sorry I don’t want to buy it! But it will make a very good purchase for someone.

But it is sad to see you part with it. I’m assuming the Chummy is up and running and that you’re not forsaking Seven ownership altogether?

Cheers

Do I sense that there is a view that one can only own one running Austin 7 at any one time?

Odd....

Not from me!

The number of Sevens one owns expands to fill the space one has for them!

Cheers

Indeed...I have four, two of which are waiting for minor attention. Oh, a third is as well - though that's just at the local garage waiting for a lift appointment so I can check, clean and apply some protection to the underside. Has anyone experienced using ACF-50?

Sometimes they even exceed the available space ...

...Indeed. Despite having a double garage and a small industrial unit, I still occasionally have to call upon two local ladies, one ninety and the other ninety five, who have garage space and love to accommodate ' their ' little babies when requested!

You're lucky - all my local ladies' garages are so full of junk - sorry, valuable artefacts, that they have no room for little babies.

David, that really sounds a bit “oooh matron!”
