#1
Interested to know views on this sports block with old repairs as per photos, is it still useable?

Hmm. I don't think anyone would be able to guarantee it.

Has that repair been done with the liners in situ? I think I would feel more comfortable if it had been welded(?) then lined.

Its a known fault that Sleeved blocks fail when a Nippy Cam is used with them.
I think that block is now relegated to Doorstop duty.

I think it might be worth investigating further, seeking out a specialist company and seeing what they say. It is amazing what can be done these days. Seems a pity to lose such a " valuable " item.

Likewise. Even if it's just for the "show" engine.

I had some work done on two Nippy Blocks and Crankcases and a sump
£2500 + worth of Laser Welding in cast iron and aluminium.
The Quality of work was excellent.
There will also be some machining costs added to this in the future.
I would not have had the welding done if it was a sleeved block.
Not all 9E blocks have the Chromidium Diamond on them.
