I've took the little cap off the end of the dynamo,  is LM grease OK to pack it with ?

I just use GP grease. Be careful to make sure it doesn’t leak out on to the commutator as this could lead to charging problems. If any grease does find its way to the commutator it is easily removed with a rag soaked in petrol?
