Hi

I thought Mk2 Rubys had high compression heads?

Cheers

My Ruby has a LC head !
However not sure after 88 years she has the original head ?

PS while discussing plugs a little time ago I posted about the seal on the head.
Looking back I was a bit mixed up however I still have the same leaking plug seal and ask
again does the chamfer on D16 plug aggravate this sorry to labour the point !

Not to be rude and correct me if I am wrong but if your Ruby is 88 yrs old would that not make it a Mk1 and thus having a low compression head fitted from new.

John Mason.
Would you believe it "Her who must be obeyed" refers to my Ruby as the toy.

Not rude at all John any views on sevens always welcome!
I have the original log book both engine and chassis numbers match with the book.
All the bodywork is as mk2
But still probably not the original head
Regards
Tim
Just realised my error it’s 86 years old !

Are you we saying Mk2 didn’t have low compression heads ?

There was briefly a middling compression head around 1935 but in 1936 the so-called 37 high compression (relatively) head was fitted to all Austin 7s.
