Starting probs
#1
I have a very high battery drain when I switch on and consequently the motor does no turn over very well, very sluggish. If I spin the motor over with out switching on it turns over quite quick, and then switch on while pressing starter in runs fine. Want to know any ideas as to what is draining battery so much when swathing on?

If I am correct in assuming that your car has a scuttle tank, then the only things that should be on the switched side of the ignition is the ignition coil and the dynamo warning light. The coil comes off the switch at 'Ign' and the dynamo wire comes off at 'D+' on the back of the switch. I would disconnect each in turn to see if the problem goes away.

You sure it’s battery drain and not too much ignition advance?
