Petrol sender access panel
#1
Today I cut a hole in the floor pan of my Ruby to gain access to the sender unit on top of the petrol tank. It was a very tense experience considering there is only about a 4-5cm gap between the floor and the top of the tank. I had to place a baking tray on top of the tank to protect it from the vicious 102mm hole saw. It generated a few alarming sparks and smoke. Not a job I would like to repeat, but it will beat scrabbling around underneath the car when I get round to fixing the sending unit!

I think I would have used a block of wood to help keep the pilot drill of the hole saw a bit more steady...still, you got it done with a neat finish and you won't regret it!

I meant to post this on the 'What have you done with your Austin today' thread.
