FUEL SENDER UNIT THREAD
#1
Hi Everyone,

Searched previous threads (sorry), but cannot find this information, so would appreciate some help.....

What thread is the electrical connection on the fuel level sender unit (on tank)? I think there was only one type, but just in case, this is for an RP.

All the best,
Colin

Hi Colin

I am 90% certain that they will be BA (Probably 4 BA which is 3.6 mm OD), a thread type favoured by Smiths and Lucas for electrical terminals.

If my memory serves me correctly they are BSF not BA.

My RP sender unit ....

The electrical connection is 5 BA

The six screws to fix the unit to the tank are 5/32" BS Whitworth (same as Meccano)

It is my firm conviction that a classic British Car is not complete without at least one meccano piece. In my case it is actually a flange which is part of the throttle linkage on the MG.  Smile

Hi Chaps,

That's all great info. I too, like the idea of having a bit of meccano on the car.

Thanks to everyone.

As Henry said,
5BA for the electrical connection and 5/32" Whitworth for the sender screws. The sender screws are available from the Autovac people.
