Just done this job myself, what a bitch, I used heat and a block of wood and loads of wd 40 until I got a 5 mm gap then used a heavy hammer and a ball joi t splitter into the gap it took three sessions to get it off and it was only one stud that was holding it back, it held on right up to the laser couple of mm before it came away from the stud, ball joint splitter is ideal for this job

Mike you have perpetuated a common misconception by using WD 40;whilst it is useful stuff ,a proper agent such as "Plus gas" will give superior results,

WD40 also do a penetrative fluid which I have found effective 
D

I did use plus gas / duck oil / swearing and sweat also
