I've never tried direct from an iPhone, but what I do do  is to email it to myself from the iPhone and then post from my laptop/PC/whatever...

Hi Barry

I post from my iPad so I hope these instructions are the same for the iPhone.

At the bottom of the submission page there is a tab “attach photos”. Click and a drop down window will appear. Choose library and it will open your photo app.  Select the photos you want and then click “actual size”. A drop down for sizing should appear. Choose a small size (I use medium) and then click done.  The file names for the photos should appear below left. Below right is a tab “attach photos” which you should click.  Just to check click the preview post button.

I always do what Hugh suggests. Email the pictures to yourself and then you can crop and play with them before posting. I find that fiddling with an iPhone screen on a website like Friends that is not optimised for phone use is a time-consuming nightmare.
