Aluminium Covered wire
#1
The aluminium covered wire from the normal stockists seems very costly. Could anyone point me in the direction of a cheeper suppler or does anyone have any leftover from there restoration project.

Thanks

I've never found an alternative supplier other than the normal suppliers.
The current manufacturer (s ) seem unable to produce round 2 /3 core cable ( like the original Ripaults ) which can cause problems when feeding it though grommets such as the brass ones discussed in an earlier post.

Ahah, thanks, pardon my dimness, I've never heard it described like that ...

I found a supplier of stainless steel covering for cables, but I have sold the car and its invoices! I will have a look in my notes to see if I can find them! Diameters were only ok for one or (next size up) two cables (dynamo value) Two cables were an absolute swine to thread through! and the covering had to be cut using a Dremel mini disc cutter, but looked super, I took the plunge & bought in for the next car! Don't forget to heat shrink over the ends.
