Spade ends ht
#11
I tin my wire end first then as Robert does open up the hole so the wire goes right in. Put flux on the soldered wire end and push right home into the hole. Hold the spade end in the vice with the flat piece sticking out the side of the vice and solder. I use a butane torch ( The vice acts as a heat sink for the rest of the spade end and lead.) Finally crimp the lead into the end with the vice. Yes Bob the solder does tend to wick down the lead but no further than the crimping.

John Mason.
Would you believe it "Her who must be obeyed" refers to my Ruby as the toy.
