The interesting part as can be seen in the first picture is that the jet misses the crank completely and this is the way the car was and it never ran a big end. Although that was with the original crank.

Perhaps with the original crank, there was enough whip at high revs to line up with the jets!

It would be interesting if you took another photo with the crank turned in it's direction of rotation by about 45 degrees.
