Shock absorber shackles
#1
Whilst rebuilding the front damper from my special I went through my stash of shock absorbers and made a discovery about the aluminium links. Some of you may already know this but there are 4 types ( well 5 if you include Hartfords but I am not here) this  was new to me, we have the 9C numbered Long sports rear links, the short links used on long rear dampers and also the front assembly, the longer type used on the rear of Ruby's. But there is a further mid length link that was used on export front dampers this is obvious that they would be required once you stop and think about because the export Rubys had a 1" packer between the spring and chassis thus the longer front link.
Picture here will illustrate.
