I used EMP Tooling Services in Havant to laser weld a Speedy crankcase (http://www.e-m-p.biz/). They did an amazing job!
To see them welding the valve seats of a vintage Bentley block was incredible (remember the Bentley has a fixed head, so the valve seats were probably 500mm down the tunnel!).
However I decided not to risk trying to repair a crack in no. 4 bore of a Chromidium block. Call me a coward if you like!
