My recollection from years ago when my cars were fitted with these (long since hurled into the night) was that even if you did fit new pins and blocks, the Carden housings themselves were badly worn and they still weren't great

OK for long wheelbase but how do you implement on a SWB car?

Back in the 1980's, I shortened one of these shafts to fit my Chummy to get rid of the pot joint. It needed an adaptor making up and pinning through the shaft before finally brazing together.

Fortunately, David Cochrane's replacement shafts are available now that eliminate the problem altogether. Recommended.
