So that seems ok... how high did yours get, Hedd, on the Aldi?!
The Aldi one moved the Excide 80ah in the RP (a battery about 2 1/2 years old) from 6.4 to 7.2. I put it on about tea time on Sunday. Took it off charge last night after work.
Ive a similar spec'd Absaar charger which I dont recall has charged anything above 7 ever. I put it briefly on the RP battery last night and it agreed with the Aldi voltage scale, noting 7.1 so near enough for me.
Last night I put the Absaar charger on the 6 month old Excide 80ah that I use in the chummy, its only wired for ignition and the horn so doesnt get a hard life (but nor does it get dynamo charge). It said 6.4 when it went on. I sneaked a look this morning and it was at 6.8. I'll see what it shows tonight.
