Hi, I know this subject was recently covered, but does anyone know if scaffold boards used as ramps will take the weight of a Nippy up into the back of a transit lwb.
I may buy a car and have the choice of a friends car trailer or hire a van which i would prefer. It's the weight accept on boards that im unsure of. I would of course make sure the boards are strong and sound.

we got a shaper in the back of a transit van using a gate and a winch. two scaffold boards and an austin 7? No problem

We regularly load cars into the van using scaffold boards reinforced with 3"x 2" on the lower side. On the Transit, there are a couple of conveniently-positioned holes (with rubber blanking plugs) in the lower door cill and I've put a couple of long 10mm coachscrews through the boards to locate positively in these holes.

Yes, it's the boards slipping that would worry me. Bolts sound a good idea!

Hi.
I use a pair 9 "x 3" joist planks for my Austin much better grade of timber. Knot Free.
A bit of angle iron on the end to hook over things or holes for pegs.
I have loaded an Mx 5 into a container with them in the past.
