Lucas AT 201
#1
Hi All,

I'm looking for a spare bit for my AT 201 tail lamps. The bit I need is the connector for the wires which has the spring loaded contacts for the bulb at the other end. One of mine has stripped threads for the clamping screw. Is there a source for these? Mine appear to be newer than the 201 body and other parts. I would have thought the Complete Automobilist would have them but they don't show them in their catalogue.

Would one of these provide a source of parts, or are they different? https://www.s-v-c.co.uk/products/288-con...-type-l582

Les, Having compared these to the 201s, I think the connector is similar but the 201 connector is shorter.

Someone must have some of these kicking around. I know the 201s are bit more rare.

Erich,

The nearest to a Lucas AT201 is this- you can remove the plastic insert and lens and replace with the originals - I have done this twice and they look like the originals

288A: Rear lamp equivalent to Lucas L582 model with glass prismatic lens - Indicators - Lamps - Classic Car Parts | Complete Automobilist

Not cheap but at least they work

Keep looking, Erich; they were certainly available in the 1980s, I repaired a number of AT201s using new connectors. If someone was supplying them now, then surely they are still going to be available?
