My speedo cable route is similar to Bruce's:-

   

   

   

Like Bruce's car, the only support the cable has is its connection to the gearbox and the grommet through the bulkhead. the only modification is that I have cable-tied the outer cable to the front crossmember to stop it getting mixed up with. the steering drop arm and draglink.

Please excuse the state of the car underneath - it does get well used!
