Can I re-open this thread? Whilst, in desperation, watching an older episode of Pilgrimage, I noticed that Nick Hewer (one of the ‘pilgrims’j was seen ferreting about under the bonnet of PL 6049, a 1931 Green Swallow according to DVLA. Seemed to have a painted radiator cowl…

I wonder if Mick Fleetwood's car survived the fire on Maui. It used to be in the shop he owned. But since everything in downtown Lahaina burned, the car may have burned as well.

This post set me thinking. I suppose we maybe could class Lord Austin as a celebrity as well as our hero. I wonder whether he ever owned a Seven or regularly drove one? I know of several motor manufacturing bosses who would often take a vehicle off the line and take it home just to check the build quality etc. Did Austin do this I wonder? Years ago I dealt with a company in Derbyshire - Cosmos Cranes - mobile crane manufacturers, the boss of whom often took a crane home and sometimes spent Sundays driving one around the local countryside!
