Robert, interesting. I always thought the 30 Ft.lb figure was high for the old style Phoenix rods. But as that was what the chaps at Phoenix torqued them up to when they bored and honed the big ends, that's the torque figure where the big end bore would be at its roundest.
If the new Phoenix 'Hadley lookalike' rods were machined at 15 Ft.lb thats the figure I'd use, although if I was building the motor I would substitute a drop of Loctite Nutlock for the recommended Moly lube on the threads.
