As David suggests, I believe that all threads on Zenith carbs of the period were metric.

    Having tried metric threads, 4mm appears to be the one. The thread seems to be very worn and wouldn’t take much to totally strip it. Have taken the step to pen it out to 3/16” BSW which appears to be a good job. Once again thanks for the help
