As I have the pale imitation variety as shown in my OP I will go for Henry's dual cap solution. I tried Robert's idea of only through the back face, but it didn't seem very sucure with my bif rivets (mostly pilot error I think). I will have a go when the dual cap rivets arrive.

Pic of my bonnnet appended - you can see the residue "evo-Stik".

I will get David Cochrane's type in due course no doubt.
