RE: Ruby Glovebox - A G Wood - 26-10-2020

I know the thick carboard-like product as 'trunkboard', I've seen a thicker grade of it used for door cards in some 'economy' vehicles and for van interior linings [as well as glove box liners],  one of the motor trimmers on this forum may be able to verify this?
I've never found a source for it in NZ but someone, somewhere, must still make it as there are replacement liners for US vehicles made of the stuff on a well-known internet site.

Millboard, available from Vintage Supplies (used to be Paul Beck).

Useful material for all sorts of trim.

Parazine,

Thanks for that. I managed to get some 2nds at a very reasonable price from Woolies, I have a use for some for another classic car and in both cases it will be covered, so hopefully a few scratches will be inconsequential.

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Tom Bickerdike - 26-10-2020

I have just this past weekend removed the lining from my ARQ glove box and it is as mentioned thick card covered, in my case, with head lining material and fixed tight to the metal sides and bottom. There is something different with the top? it was hard to say as this was not in great shape but think it was just fitted tight somehow perhaps without any card? It should be possible to make templates but I could also draw round the card inserts I removed and send them to you if if helps.

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Ilmoro - 26-10-2020

Drawing round them would be useful Tom thanks, and photos if possible.

Ian

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Tom Bickerdike - 26-10-2020

I will do that Ian once I get back to the car, stored elsewhere, and I could send you the templates if you pm me.

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Tom Bickerdike - 31-10-2020

    Hope this helps Ian.

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Ilmoro - 31-10-2020

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Stephencrisp360 - 17-10-2022

Sorry to reopen this thread. Malcolm watts from the Cornwall club had a template/ article covering this. But I can’t find it on the site anymore (last used by me in 2006…I think ) does anyone have this article or a template I can use ?

RE: Ruby Glovebox - Stephencrisp360 - 19-10-2022
