In all honesty I think Corsica or Sardinia a better bet than North Africa! And I hear they are lovely. Ferries from Nice too I believe.
I'm not so sure about Geneva or Annecy, but I remember vividly the catastrophe of hitting Lake Constance at the wrong time of day. You then realise that the route options are of course substantially limited by the presence of the lake, and consequently sit in a queue of traffic for ever. Just something to keep in mind.
Slovenia is a lovely, friendly country with some interesting things to visit? And no further than Santiago I reckon.

We tried the Stelvio in our Riley 9, as part of a 'Riley model names' trip through Italy and France, but unfortunately on the way up going south the oil pump had a fatigue fracture of one of its plungers and I thought it better not to continue at 0 psi instead of 55!

This is Trollstigen in Norway - I drove my father's 29 Chummy over it in 1998 and then our 1928 Chummy over it in 2007.
I am sucker for mountains.

Me too. I'd like to go back 10,000 years and see the glacier that filled the valley from 3.37 onwards...

Me three, totally agree with R, the great Dolomite road is spectacular.
Others to add to the list, the Grossglockner high alpine road in Austia and the Vrsic pass in Slovenia with 33 hairpins up and 27 down! Unfortunately we didn't do them in a proper car but there's still time yet.

I drove the Ulster over Grossglockner in 1992 - it was rather too well engineered to be an exciting drive, scenery was spectacular however. We were overtaken by a bike going up!!!

At 2610metres the Col del Nivolet is worth a visit. North of Turin, it’s a dead end as far as normal vehicles are concerned (well it was anyway) the walk on up to Gran Paradiso is worth the trip, as is the mountain goat stew and polenta in the Rifugio.

We climbed this in 2017 — part of our big tour around Europe in the Opal. We were overtaken by and then overtook a Lycra clad cyclist several times, in fact it took on the appearance of a race near the top. Don’t imagine it was the same chap but you never know!
