To whom it may concern:

Just browsing the Matthewson's auction catalogue for December 2nd and spied two Austin Sevens that don't appear on the chassis register. I tried to submit details on the A7CA site, but it doesn't work.

The first is described as a 1936 'Cabriolet' - probably 'tourer' and it has a Tickford-style hood, AKW 924; the other is a 1937 Ruby CHP 299; both cars are in blue.

I'm no expert, but I think the one described as a cabriolet is an Austin 7 Pearl Cabriolet.

Hi

AKW 924 appears to be a "Mark 1" Pearl Cabriolet, although it is fitted with later "Mark 2" hub caps and front wings. KW is I believe a Bradford registration.

My private list of known surviving Mark 1 Pearls has now increased from 100 to 101, which is quite impressive considering that they only made around 1500 of them.
