I want to buy some 1/4" and 5/16" dowty washers but they only seem to be available in BSP or metric. How critical are the sizes? I'm not sure if 1/8 BSP is the same as 1/4" bore as the conversion chart I checked show them being 6mm!

Try Demon Tweaks and ask for Mocal bonded seals. They had them in imperial sizes last time I needed any

Hitchcock motorcycles on 01564 783192 list 8mm for a more sensible price than ebay.I bought some 7mm a while ago to substitute 1/4 but have'nt tried them for sump sealing yet.
