electronic regulator and SM5 switchpanel users
#1
I'm just wiring up a coil SM5 switchpanel with two brush (still 6V) conversion in order to run an AO regulator unit, the higher spec 150W one designed for cars; still cheap enough to carry a spare unit! I've questioned the low resistance in the field coils - under 2 ohm - which some manufacturers don't like, preferring about 3.5 ohm for good function (presumably stopping failure!). AO said not to worry about extra resistance and that the unit, being able to deal with more current in the field coils, will be able to cope.

Question: Is anyone using regulator with switchpanel and what do you do with the warning light, as there are now no connections from the panel SH and D terminals?

Been running a regulator & SM5 for 30+ years, Dynamo D & F are connected to the regulator and a link from D is run to the SM5 D terminal to make the warning light work.
