RN door hinges

Good afterneoon. I'm re-fitting the doors to my RN and I noticed that the bottom hinge (that was still attached) had the number 86 (or 98) stamped on it. Are there any numbers for the top and middle hinges?

Yes, all three are different to contend with the body tumblehome, from memory 96 97 98, I will have to check to be sure.

Stuart, Dave is spot-on: top hinge is stamped 96, middle 97 and bottom 98.

Interesting. So is it the earlier coachbuilt cars which appear have body number stamps, or was that a confusion?

Many thanks for the replies I’ve sorted out the hinges which are numbered.
Going to use steel screws as the previous ‘restorer’ has used brass which have broken?. Regards Stuart

I wonder if it original holes, or if holes not drilled large enough in new wood?
A digression - do vintage or post-vintage tourers have body number or location-marked hinges??

The trick when using brass screws is to use a steel screw of the same size first then remove it and replace with the brass screw.

Original door hinges from my 1932 AH Tourer (long chassis, wide door).
