1938 Austin “big” seven –
Just a wonderful little motor car packed with prewar features and Patina.
Supplied new to a Mr Harris in Birmingham who owned the vehicle all the way up to 1987 when it was sold to the second owner, A Mr Woodward to for sum of £850 while needing some remedial work. Mr Woodward then owned the vehicle up to 1996 When it was purchased by the Mr Derek Medlock. This vehicle as a result has had just 3 former keepers since it was supplied new in 1938.
The vehicles quality is astonishing with a wonderful feeling of patina wherever you look. The interior is largely original with just the front seat bases and bolsters having seemingly been repaired in keeping with the vehicle. The rear bench seat, headlining and glass and dashboard all seem to be original.
The mechanical’s are outstanding with the engine creating ample power without fault to propel the vehicle along through its 4 speed crash gearbox with good oil pressure. All of the electrics are correct and working without any horrible surprises along with the rod brakes and suspension.
To add to the patina – In the history file for the car there are numerous receipts for work along with the original “buff” logbook, Bill of sale’s, MOT documents and workshop manuals and a valuation letter from the “Austin big seven register” from 2014 declaring the as being in “excellent condition”
The vehicle is also supplied with its ORIGINAL, complete tool kit, Jack and cranking handle.
