As with the previous crosshaft, clear diagrams, descriptions and adjustment info for the Girling systems cross shaft are not common, so operation not easy to fathom even when lying on your back..

With the footbrake applied, the arms of the U shaped yolk should be equal distance from the central stop. Application of the handbrake is primarily to the rear whilst the foot pedal is more equal.
