Magneto starter dogs - leaf200 - 07-01-2018 All, Where can I obtain a new starter dog for a magneto engine. I am fitting a new Barlow crank and the standard dog plain section is to long ( I know this is an issue for Phoenix cranks). Thanks RE: Magneto starter dogs - Ruairidh Dunford - 07-01-2018 I turn mine down slightly - they only need a small amount on material removed. I have some pictures on the old Forum explaining how to do it but will need to see if I can locate them... RE: Magneto starter dogs - Ruairidh Dunford - 16-02-2018 Found the photos... Original dog... Two years ago I fitted a phoenix crank to my Ruby engine (coil ignition). The only difference I found was the starting handle was in a slightly diffrent position when at rest. John Mason.
