Something that's made me smile for many years, Duncan. I often wondered how popular the book/story/film/show etc. would have been if the real meaning of the title was more widely known. Maybe if that was to happen now, the 'woke' brigade would look to have all reference to it disappear for ever.
John Warburton put a lot into his Aston, a car he'd known for many years before finally acquiring it. He once told me that just after his restoration was finished he took it to an AMOC meeting thinking it would be well received. Regretfully, nobody there was interested in such a funny old car preferring instead the shiny, modern Astons they all owned.

The Aston comes to our local VSCC meeting. It’s a gorgeous car. I know the current owner quite well but he is yet to offer me a drive.

Despite keeping the car on an Accumate when not in use, after a recent flat battery I could not get it back to a full charge. When tested with a voltmeter it was only managing just under 4 volts so there was at least one cell dead and probably the others weren't far behind. The battery was an Exide 80Ah, which I bought (I think) in 2014.
I have replaced it with a French sourced NUMAX 6v which looks exactly the same as the Exide it has replaced, and it cost me 109€ (£93.95 in real money). On the case it is claimed to be 82Ah. It does the job well enough.
The battery was supplied dry and the shop filled it with acid and charged it overnight FOC. Doing the change enabled me to give the battery box and the floor under the seat a fresh coat of home made waxoyl.
In true Wortley style I am now thinking of what I can do with the old one...

yes, very nice chap. I met him at another local event with his Star a few years ago. A car I'd had a tour of North Wales in many years ago as a teenager with its previous owner (also John W).
He did invite to the your meet, but unfortunatley thursday evenings are not good for me at present. I have been before however.

Duncan. It's not certain that is the origin of the name. Lou initially wanted the car to be named " Cascara Sagrada " after a laxative but was dropped after it was thought it might offend the ladies ! Another explanation of the name was that it resembled the sound of the slow tick over of an engine of 23 litres.
I think we will never know!

Tony, I am currently writing web automation software. When I saw DOM that was exactly what I thought too! Figuring out selectors always makes me want to go smack bad web developers around the head for making my job so much harder!

Daughter's wedding yesterday; second attempt due to lockdowns. The Ruby delivered bride successfully - an anxious moment for the Ruby on its first significant journey for many many months and now running quite well.
