For some unfathomable reason, the dipstick on my RP only measured 3 1/2 pints when the sump was filled up to the 'Full' mark. I therefore filled it to 4 pints and marked the stick where the new level came to. The difference between the two marks is 5/16 in (approx 8 mm) which represents 1/2 pint.
